DEBBIE FULLER CONFIRMED HEAD COACH FOR 2014
Fuller confirmed as LG Mystics Coach
The LG Mystics today confirmed that Debbie Fuller will be returning to take the Head Coach position for the 2014/2015 seasons.
Fuller took a one –year sabbatical to spend more time with her family this season remaining in the team in the part time role of specialist defence coach. Her time out has renewed her drive and excitement for the coaching role.
Fuller said, “I can’t wait to get started again – I’m feeling refreshed and am already well down the track with planning for 2014. I’m very grateful for the LG Mystics board supporting me by allowing the time-out and keeping open the opportunity to come back as Head Coach. Coaching at this level can be a juggle with a young family but everyone involved is extremely supportive and I am ready to take on the challenge again”.
CEO Julie Paterson said that the Board and Players were all delighted that Fuller had accepted the position again. “We had always retained hope that Deb would feel a strong pull to come back to coaching our team. We respected Deb’s need to take some time out, and left the opportunity open for her to enable her to make the best decision for her and her family – and that has paid off for all of us.”
Fuller started with the LG Mystics in 2009 as assistant coach and went on to become Head Coach for the 2011/2012 seasons before stepping back for 2013 season.
Ruth Aitken, coach of the LG Mystics for the 2013 season, was appointed to Singapore as Head Coach for a two year contract and begins there at the end of this ANZ Championship season.
The 2014 LG Mystics Head Coaching role will formally start from August 2013.
